In sessions held on September 29th and October 5th, the Industry Committee of the AMTC gathered with researchers from our five research groups to know about the status of their projects and the new initiatives they’re leading. The attendant companies were Codelco, AMSA, BHP and Anglo American.
Both sessions were chaired by the Executive Director of the AMTC, Javier Ruiz del Solar, and the Technology Transfer Manager, Rodrigo Cortés.
In those two days principal, associate and academic researchers detailed to the representatives not only their duties and general aspects of their projects, but also progress reports, achievements, difficulties, fundraisings and alliances forged with the mining industry in order to create new research projects or to boost current ones. After each presentation a discussions space was opened in which the guests could deepen into subjects that caught their attention or simply to clear doubts.
Later, the industry representatives had to fill several evaluation forms, which will serve as part of the AMTC’s general evaluation as basal project before Conicyt.
The AMTC’s Technology Transfer Manager, Rodrigo Cortés, stated: “This space of presentation of our progress in R&D is of the outmost relevance to the AMTC, because it allows our basal projects to get feedback from the industry, regarding how important the research conducted by the AMTC is to mining”.
