On Thursday November 10th, the Technology and Innovation fair was held in the city of Talca. The event was organized by the Risk Prevention faculty of the local campus of the Universidad Santo Tomás. The AMTC was represented at the time by students Pablo Cano and Gabriel Azócar, member of the UChile robotic soccer team, who showed two NAO robots.
The fair was located in the Plaza Cienfuegos and was open to the general public. Its goal was to show current technology in the fields of agriculture, informatics, design, construction and risk prevention, besides promoting innovative projects developed in these and other disciplines, focusing on those useful to future college students.
Although the robots didn´t play soccer due to the infrastructure of the fair, the attendants showed interest in knowing their technical features, capacities and especially the work the UChile students do when they program the robots. Bear in mind that UChile has won the 4th place three years in a row in the RoboCup competition.
Besides the AMTC, the fair also had Cisco, Grupo One, Archimed, Telefónica I+D, Geogas, Natural Energy, Digitador, Comercio Justo and Coworking Talca among its participants.
