The group’s research focuses on the geological characterization and the associated geophysical, geochemical and metallogenic processes. It also addresses the improvements of the geo-modeling process, involving both geological conceptualization and the development of geostatistical and geo-computing tools. In addition, the group advances knowledge of the highly-destructive active geological processes towards developing better protocols for assesing hazards that may have a great impact on mining activities and society.

Basal projects of this group:

  • Application and inovation of geophysical tools in mining-related activities
  • Innovations in applied geology for mining challenges
  • Rapid geological modeling and improved models integrated to an advances geostatistical software
  • Geo-hazard assessment for mining industry development
  • Modeling geological uncertainty
